There is no easy way around saying this, but the man’s role during the first year and a half or two of the child’s life is really to support the mother. The mother is the one doing all of the nurturing and caring for the young infant. In our natural biological roles, the mother is the one who has always raised and cared for the children during this time of their lives on a minute by minute basis.

As a man, your job is to support the woman and give her whatever she needs. Your needs will be put second to the child’s needs while they are very young. When the child starts to develop walking and speaking skills, this is the time that you start teaching children independence one step at a time. If you do not have any more children along the way, now is the time where parents must reunite their bond between each other.

Never forget your role as a parent is to raise your child to be sufficient all by themselves. Adolescence is getting carried into adulthood far too long in today’s society. Parents are fully responsible for this change that has taken place. Many children have been spoiled and handed everything when they should have been learning how to provide and do for themselves. Do not make this mistake when raising your children. No matter how upset a child may get, how much they may whine or cry, it is your job as a parent to do what is best for the child’s future. You cannot play into each and every moment your child wants something and you give in to them. A child will be constantly testing to see what it can get away with. It is your job to teach it from day one that it is the child and you are the parent. Your child is here to respect and obey their parents, enjoy their childhood, and grow up to be fully self-sufficient human beings who are here to serve the world with their unique gift.
